12 easy ways to make your skin look healthy and beautiful

When it comes to looking beautiful, maintaining the skin is really essential. Our busy schedule can mean that we have little or no time to visit a skin care professional but you can still get your skin looking its best if you apply these tricks.

1. Opt for shorter, cooler showers. Long steamy showers strip the skin of it's moisture and wash away protective oils. Limit showers to 10 minutes.

2. Moisturise your skin especially your neck and upper chest as it is a prime spot for telltale sign of aging. If this area is extra dry, use a facial moisturising mask twice a month.

3. Stay away from irritating beauty products. keep your beauty products simple. Products with colour, fragrance, produce bubbles or have "antibacterial" can all irritate skin.

4. Use unscented baby powder to keep areas of your skin that come in contact with another skin clean and dry. Places like the inner thighs, underarms, beneath large breasts. This helps to prevent intertrigo, a common skin condition that occurs in moist areas fostering the growth of bacteria or fungi.

5. Cut off the end of an aloe leaf, split open and spread the gel over the extra-dry skin. The acids in aloe eat away dead skin cells and speed up the healing process.

6. Embark on exercise that gets you sweating example running, ridding a bicycle, jogging. Sweating is a natural way of eliminating toxic substances that can build up under the skin. Regular exercise also maintains healthy circulation and blood flow throughout your body, including your skin. Remember to wear a sunscreen that protects against ultra violet rays or a moisturiser that does same job if you are exercising outdoors on a hot day.

7. Avoid smoking, tanning salons and sunbathing; they will age your skin prematurely.

8. Limit your alcohol intake. Too much of it enlarges the blood vessels near the surface of your facial skin.

9. Donot rub your eyes rather apply a cold compress or washcloth to the area where you are itching.

10. Keep your hands off your face. This transfers all the germs and dirts to your delicate skin.

11. Sleep. This helps to recharge our body. For an adult, 6-8 hours of sleep is recommended daily.

12. Smile. This helps to exercise your facial muscles and keeps you looking younger.
